The pulsating bolts of light twirled through the darkness, pivoting to the beat of the music. Another night of abandon in the Florida Keys was off to a rollicking start when one light beam locked in on an embarrassed couple shimmying across the rippled sand dance floor.

America’s drive-to barrier reef is better than ever. But don’t take our word for it.  Ask the fish.

If you haven’t been diving in the Keys for a few years, you may not recognize the place. With the addition of more shipwrecks to provide habitat, and thanks to the efforts of the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary in creating SPAs (sanctuary preservation areas), the Keys may well be the most wildlife-rich area in the Atlantic/Caribbean.
